Free and low-cost activities for Bigs and Littles Having Fun Together

How do matches spend their time together?  The particular activities can be almost anything.  What is most important is that the Little play a role in deciding on the activity, and that it be fun!

Here are a few suggestions

  • Go to the movies and discuss what you see
  • Shop for food and cook a meal
  • Play catch
  • Walk around the mall
  • Hang out and just talk

  • Find interesting information on the internet

  • Do homework (although only occasionally)
  • Go bowling
  • Go to a concert
  • Shoot some hoops
  • Go to the library
  • Go to a baseball or basketball game
  • Do gardening together
  • Go to a museum
  • Start a woodworking project
  • Read a book together
  • Talk about your first job
  • Get involved in a community service project
  • Give a tour of your current workplace
  • Take a walk in the park

Ten Community Service activites you can share with your Little:

  1. Plant a tree
  2. Collect soda cans and donate the money to a charity
  3. Serve at a soup kitchen
  4. Adopt a family at the holidays and make them a food basket
  5. Clean up around your Little’s neighborhood
  6. Collect winter coats for the homeless
  7. Walk the dogs at the animal shelter
  8. Read to the blind
  9. Visit patients at the hospital
  10. Make cookies and sing Christmas carols at a nursing facility
